Two Houses, One Jedi Order

The Brotherhood is arranged into two noble houses of longstanding origin: The Honorable House of the Jedi Guardians, and the Noble House of the Jedi Consulars. Each Jedi Brother upon completion of their ascension to the rank of Padawan is given a short evaluation test by the Jedi Council to determine in which of the Houses the young Jedi is best suited toward. Upon completion of the test, the Padawan is given a short period to evaluate both Houses with the Jedi Masters of each House. After the evaluation time is completed, the House Masters and Jedi Council meet with the Padawan again, and discuss the results of the testing and the evaluation period. The Padawan is then asked to choose which House they desire to join, with the guidance offered by the Masters.

Once a Jedi has selected a House, the Padawan takes the oath of the House, and the House is now responsible for the completion of the Padawan's training. The House will help the Padawan select a suitable master, offer its own trainers and instructors, advise, guide, and grow with the Padawan as s/he makes their way to full membership in the Brotherhood as a Jedi Knight. The Houses ultimately divide responsibilities to the Brotherhood in this way, and at least one Jedi Master from each House sits upon the Jedi Council, as we are Brothers, and though we are divided, we are always united. Each House has its slight differences, which you will learn in time, but at their hearts they are the same, united by the Jedi Code, the Jedi Council, the lightsaber, the First Oath, and the brotherhood they share with the Force and their Jedi brothers.

Once the oath of House has been taken, members of the Guardian House use the color blue for their ranks when engaging in our classes/events. Similarly Consulars use the color green for theirs.
