Greetings traveler, guest, friend, or new brother. As this is your first time visiting our temple, we have prepared some information to help you get to know us a little better. You likely have many questions and we are here, ready to answer them. Hopefully all will be clear sooner than you think.
We are the Brothers of the Code (or BC for short), a group of Jedi Knights dedicated to upholding the values of truth, loyalty, honor, and respect throughout the galaxy in order to maintain peace and justice through chivalry and knowledge. We aspire each day to embody these values contained within the Jedi Code, both in our missions and travels in the Galaxy of the Star Wars Jedi Knight games, as well as in other avenues of gaming, and our real life interactions with others.
Why do you say you are not a clan? The Brotherhood of the Code is not a clan. It is MORE than a clan. It is a
community first and foremost. Secondly, it is a Jedi training
academy. Its purpose is not to function as a gaming clan, rather to unite members of clans and the clanless together under one common ideal. Thirdly, for those who seek to pursue it, the Brothers of the Code themselves engage in a
fraternity of sorts. It is this last aspect that holds organization, ranks, oaths, etc. which might lead some to believe we are a clan. However, this fraternity is not entirely limited to JKA, nor to gamers, and ideally functions as a means of improving one's life, mind, and IRL community.
The goal of BC as a community is to promote brotherhood and the Jedi ideal within the clan(s) one is already a member of. Its purpose is to bridge the gap between various clans, those not in clans, and people who are not even necessarily gamers; it is a place for all to come and embrace brotherhood.
The goal of BC's academy is to create a place for members within the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (JKA) community to come together and form life bonds within a Jedi Order style training environment, based upon the Jedi Praxeum of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker on Yavin IV. Its purpose is to supplement training already being administered within clans, not to uproot it. It is a place for outstanding members of the JKA community who hold the Jedi ideal to meet together and pass on their wealth of knowledge to newer members, regardless of clan affiliations.
The goal of BC's fraternity, application process, oaths, ranking, etc. is not the same as the standard idea of a gaming clan. BC will actually work on acting as a neutral host for holding inter-clan tournaments, rather than competing as a clan. Its main goal is to bring friends together under the concepts of the Jedi Code and help each other grow together on the journey of life.
Thus one can plainly see the many ways in which we attempt to achieve the ultimate purpose of BC in uniting members who hold our common ideals - members of all clans and all communities - under one roof.
For those of you interested in learning more about the fraternal aspects of membership, we hope you will take some time to familiarize yourself with our structure by continuing through the rest of our tour:
